Hugh Stokes has practised law in the Gulf for many years and advises on all types of commercial matters, including company formations, reconstruction and liquidation, and corporate finance and investments. He has written a number of articles on doing business in Bahrain. He was formerly a member of the Bar of Her Majesty’s Court for the Persian Gulf, prior to retrocession.

He has a Masters Degree from Oxford University and is a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of England and Wales, Member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and Honorary Legal Adviser to H.E. the British Ambassador. He has frequently been referred to with approval in Legal 500, Chambers & Partners and elsewhere. He also reads and writes French.
